Doctor Who ‘The Stolen Earth’ Trailer

Here’s the TV Trailer for this Saturday’s Episode of Doctor Who, which airs this Saturday night, check your local listings because I’m lazy and cannot be bothered looking it up myself.

Notice how everyone is in this, if you have appeared on Doctor Who recently your back, except for one or two major characters who were too busy doing panto in Brighton when they filmed this. Their lines were transfered to the kid from The Sarah Jane Adventures. I may have made that whole paragraph up.

Billie Piper: “I’ve ruined my future career!”

Billie Piper has been talking to TVGuide.com about her career and what the future holds for. She came to the realisation towards the end of the interview that going topless for an ITV2 show was not exactly the prime location if you want to be an A-Lister, she should have at least saved it for HBO or Showtime.

Someone said to me the other day, rather viciously, ‘What A-list stars do you see get their t— out?’ And then I suddenly start thinking, ‘Oh, my God, what have I done? I’ve ruined my future career!’” Piper says. “If people get upset about the show, that’s fine. But you know, you get photographed on the beach topless nowadays. After all, they’re only breasts. It’s not that interesting.”

In all fairness, Angelina Jolie is an A-Lister and she goes naked all the time, it’s never hurt her career. In fact people are disappointed when she is not naked and movies in which she doesnt get naked make less money, true fact.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl is filming it’s second series now and a third has been commisioned because ITV are desperate to keep Billie Piper in things on there network. Piper is also in Doctor Who: The Stolen Earth this Saturday night.

New Doctor Who Trailer

The BBC have released a new trailer for the second half of Series 4, the trailer does include spoilers so if you have been avoiding I advise you not to press play below. Even though this is obviously an apology to viewers for pushing this weeks episode to make way for Eurovision it still makes the series look like there’s some potential and tells you virtually nothing about the series that we didn’t already know, oh apart from a teaser on who the big bad is!

Davies Out, Moffat’s In

The Doctor and Rose

Russell T. Davies is stepping down as the lead writer of Doctor Who after four years. Davies who is credited with bringing back the show in 2005 is also credited with creating the Slitheen so my feelings were mixed on this.

Then I actually read the article and I was pleased he was going, because he’s replaced by Stephen Moffat (time for the second coupling reference of the day, in fact ever, that’s spooky huh?). Anyway Stephen Moffat who wrote Coupling, Jekyll and the best episodes of Doctor Who (Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances) is taking over for Series 5.

Here’s some quotes from the man himself

“My entire career has been a Secret Plan to get this job. I applied before but I got knocked back ‘cos the BBC wanted someone else. Also I was seven. Anyway, I’m glad the BBC has finally seen the light, and it’s a huge honour to be following Russell into the best - and the toughest - job in television. I say toughest ‘cos Russell’s at my window right now, pointing and laughing.”

Stephen Moffat’s next episodes air on BBC1, Saturday May 31, 2008, there’s a preview clip after the jump (more…)
