It’s not fake, it’s Politcal Entertainment!

And credibility cover’s all three presidential candidates, 1, 2, 3…

[flash http://thatdvdsite.com/media/wwepresident.flv w=480 h=360]

Ladies and Gentleman your winner by pinfall, Barack Obama for having “If you smell, what Barack, is cooking!” as the only line he didn’t need to read from the auto-cue.

Apparantly WWE has these guys on for more tonight, because nothing appeals more to WWE fans than the exciting world of Politics. This is actually a return to wrestling for one of the candidates, John McCain was a special guest referee at David vs Goliath, true fact.

If you can’t tell yet it’s been a slow week entertainment wise, actually the highlight of the week is probably photo’s of Hermione from Harry Potter wearing see through undies. It’s that dead just now.

Ok so how many of you just opened a new tab to go and search for those photo’s? Perv’s.

Heroes Season 2 Teaser (UK Pace)

Heroes Season 2

Thought I’d post a trailer for season 2 of Heroes, considering it’s starting at 9pm next Thursday (April 24th) on BBC2 and BBCHD. If you have not yet seen it (shame on you, everyone else has found a way!) or if you are just watching again on BBCHD it will definately be worth your time. BBCHD has a double bill with the second episode airing at 10.30pm. Also Kristen Bell is stunningly hot, which is always worth watching.

Just ignore the September 24th on NBC bit at the end of the trailer, BBC are way behind with this.

More Dollhouse Cast Updates

Amy Acker

I’m really looking forward to this show now, the major news for this show today is that Amy Acker has been cast as Dr. Claire Saunders, who is charged with looking after the Dolls.

Whedon had been rumoured for a while to be casting someone else from the Buffyverse and these have now been confirmed. My fears of a Michelle Trachtenberg return have thankfully been put to sleep for now.

There’s also a few other casting updates with 24’s Harry Lennix playing Echo’s (Eliza Dushku) bodyguard and Miracle Laurie is playing November, a doll who is on the larger side. I have no idea who she is either, there’s a photo of her after the jump though. …Click here for the rest!

Doctor Who returns with Big Ratings

The Doctor and Martha

Doctor Who returned on Saturday with 8.4m viewers, which is much better than I think anyone suspected, especially Russell T Davies who as the showrunner was very outspoken against moving the show to an earlier 6.05pm timeslot, fearing it may cost them viewers.

It was rated the 10th most watched program for the week-ending April 6th 2008, which sounds absolutley appalling but the only shows in front of it were Coronation Street and Eastenders, which by UK law are watched by your Mum, now if you count the amount of Mother’s in the UK then no other show will have a look in.

This rating is pretty insignificant however as the first episode always gets high ratings as it usually features a new Doctor or a new companion, the big test will be how many viewers the show retains and let’s be honest, no-one would have cared if Catherine Tate fell out the tardis at the end of the last episode, while David Tennant is The Doctor, everyone is watching for Rose.

King of the Hill renewed

King of the Hill Characters

King of the Hill, that show from about 10 years ago that was better than the Simpsons but no-one else watched, is apparantly still going strong and will be back for a 13th season.

That’s right, TWELVE season’s of this show has already been produced, I had no idea this was still going, I’m not even sure it’s on UK television anymore, if I had to guess which station it’s on I would go with FX though, they seem to air every cartoon these days.

Major Dollhouse Cast Update

Olivia Williams

It’s an update on Dollhouse, everybody gather round!

Olivia Williams has landed the lead role, she will be playing Adelle DeWitt, who runs the Dollhouse. Adelle is very efficient and very ruthless. Acordding to wikipedia (the voice of truth), She would die before she showed anyone how lonely she is.

Olivia Williams played the wife of Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense, other than that I’ve never heard of her, she was in Friends however so someone must know her.

Smallville Writer’s Quit

SmallvilleClark

As of the end of Series 7, Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are leaving the hit E4 show.

An open letter from Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, creators and executive producers of Smallville.

Over the last 7 years we have had the honor of working with a remarkable team of people here in Los Angeles and in Vancouver. We have been blessed with a wonderful cast who we have watched mature with admiration and affection. We have been rewarded with a fan base that is as loyal as it is vocal.

We are incredibly proud of our work on this show. We achieved what we set out to do. We never compromised our vision. We leave knowing that Smallville is the longest — running comic book based series of all — time. The show was featured on the covers of Rolling Stone, MAD magazine, TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly. The pilot had the highest — rated premiere in the history of the WB. Even in its seventh year it is still the #1 scripted show on the network. Smallville is watched by millions of people in hundreds of countries and in dozens of languages around the world.

The show’s success is a credit to a fantastically talented group of people.
We wanted to take this chance to single some of them out:

Our writers — your work speaks for itself.
James, Jae, Rob, David — the backbone of our team in Vancouver.
Joe Davola, Chris and Shelly — remember those Friday night brainstorming sessions?
Len Goldstein and Steve Pearlman — thanks for believing we could do this. David Nutter — for giving the show your magic touch.
John Litvack — when the knives were out, you always had our backs.
Ken Horton — our Yoda.
Peter Roth — Smallville’s biggest fan.
Melinda, Michael R., Paul M., Susan and Suzanne — for steering us through 152 episodes.
Greg Beeman — your passion is an inspiration.
Jordan, David, Garth, Carolyn, Bob & Lew — and everyone at the much — missed WB.
Paul Levitz, Greg Noveck and the guys at DC Comics.
Lisa Lewis — our very own soccer mom/mafia accountant.
Michael Gendler — aka mega — counsel.
David Lubliner — we can finally focus on features now.
And last but in no way the least, Renee Kurtz — the smartest TV agent in town, we would be nowhere without you!

Finally, to the fans who have stuck with us through the highs and the lows:
know this — we never stopped fighting to make this show great. Thanks for watching.

Alfred Gough & Miles Millar

So yeah, the two creators, a few of the main cast, about half there audience, all leaving Smallville at the end of the season? Maybe time to put this one to bed? No? You want to milk the superman franchise some more? That seems fair.
